Asus ZenFone 6 launches in the US in a special edition with tweaked design and maxed-out specs

Internationally announced with minimal fanfare back in May, the Asus ZenFone 6 quickly developed somewhat of a cult following thanks to its unconventional design, impressive specifications, and extremely reasonable price point. The inexpensive Snapdragon 855 powerhouse did not disappoint in our in-depth review that found among other things the flippity-flop camera to be fast, reliable, and almost surprisingly easy to use both as a “primary” shooter and a selfie taker.
At the end of the day, however, the things that will help justify the premium are first and foremost the mind-blowing 12 gigs of RAM and 512 gigs of internal storage space offered by the ZenFone 6 Edition 30.
In comparison, the $600 configuration combines 8GB memory with 256GB local digital hoarding room. The rest of the specs are the same across all ZenFone 6 variants, including everything from a 6.4-inch “all-screen NanoEdge” display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels to the aforementioned Snapdragon 855 SoC, a massive 5,000mAh battery, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, customizable side-mounted Smart Key, and a 48 + 13MP dual camera system you can flip back and forth for maximum versatility.
