Beats Unveils New Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earbuds

Apple-owned Beats is announcing its own new wireless earbuds just weeks after Apple launched its new AirPods earbuds. The company’s new Powerbeats Pro are essentially wireless versions of the regular Powerbeats, and coming in at $250, the earbuds may just be the AirPods alternative you want.
Powerbeats Pro is almost everything the $199 AirPods isn’t — it’s more colorful, more comfortable, has a bigger battery, and probably better sound. According to Beats, the new PowerBeats Pro is 23% smaller and 17% lighter than the wired Powerbeats 3. And it will also protect against sweat and water resistance, but don’t test it limits as it doesn’t come with any official certification.
Like the new AirPods, the new Powerbeats Pro comes with Apple’s H1 chip, meaning you can say Hey Siri to activate the voice assistant whenever you want. And it also works much like the AirPods — you can easily pair it with your devices and taking them off will automatically pause music.
Beats claims the new PowerBeats Pro will last up to 9 hours on a single charge, and you can obviously charge it using the provided charging case for the earbuds. You can easily get 1.5 hours of music playback with just 5 minutes of charge, and 4.5 hours of listening with a 15-minute charge. The charging case can’t be charged wirelessly, however.
The earbuds come in black, ivory, moss and navy, and it will be available from Apple sometime in May for $250. If you want AirPods-like earbuds for working out, these are the perfect alternative. They are not cheap at all, but I doubt you will get the AirPods-like experience anywhere else.
