Microsoft announced today that it will provide a free copy of the game “Madden NFL 18” with the purchase of any Xbox One X or S. The game is a $60 value.

“It’s NFL Draft season and we’ve got your football fix just in time,” Microsoft’s Mike Nelson writes as one of the loosest reasons ever for a sale. “Starting today, when you purchase any new Xbox One console, you’ll get a digital copy of Madden NFL 18 as a bonus with your purchase.”

That the NBA and NHL playoffs are underway and the MLB season is inching towards its second month, be damned. Microsoft is thinking about the NFL and football instead.

Fine. But the firm is also highlighting some Xbox One S bundle if the Xbox One X is too expensive and football isn’t your thing: The Xbox One S Sea of Thieves bundle and Xbox One S PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds bundle both provide a 1 TB console for just $300.
