COD: Modern Warfare Beta Test Comes to Xbox One

Xbox One gamers who preorder Call of Duty: Modern Warfare can partake in a cross-platform multiplayer beta test this weekend. There will be future multiplayer tests before the game launches in late October as well.
“Be among the first to experience the intense multiplayer action, ranging from the quick, close quarter 2v2 Gunfight mode, to traditional 6v6 multiplayer gameplay and larger player count firefights,” Activision’s David Hodgson writes. “Try new gameplay mechanics, including bullet penetration, gun mounting, door breaching and night vision multiplayer gameplay maps featuring night vision goggles (NVGs) that allow for an amazing tactical experience.”
Among the first is a bit of a stretch: A week ago, PlayStation 4 gamers were literally the first to participate in a public multiplayer beta of the new game. But a one-week delta isn’t horrible.
Here’s the deal: If you pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for Xbox One—any edition—you can get an early peek at the game’s multiplayer experience, starting with this weekend’s test, which starts tomorrow (Thursday) and runs through Sunday. This weekend’s beta test is cross-platform and will include PC, PS4, and Xbox One gamers.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches October 25.
