Google Drive’s Latest Material Redesign Revamp Starts Rolling Out

Google is starting to roll out an improved interface for Google Drive on mobile devices today. Starting with iOS devices, the new interface for the app makes it much easier to navigate around the app.
The redesigned interface introduces an interface that’s a lot whiter than before. And that really aligns with Google’s new Material Design interfaces on other apps. The improved interface does introduce some useful features, however.
There’s a new Home tab on the app that surfaces your files depending on context, so you will get to things much quicker than before It will show files depending on how frequently you access them, or what time you last accessed them, or what files you access at specific times of the day.
The updated interface introduces a new bottom navigation bar which makes it much easier to access all the different parts of the app. The app’s search bar is also getting expanded to be available across the app, and there’s a new account switching experience that makes it quicker to switch different your different accounts. And lastly, there’s a revamped actions menu that makes it so your most frequently used actions are easily accessible at the top, followed by everything else.
The new update for Google Drive is starting to roll out on iOS today, and it will start rolling out on Android from March 18.
