Latest Pixel 4 XL photo leak corroborates Snapdragon 855 and more specs
So far this morning there’s been one iPhone 11 leak, two Google Pixel 4 leaks, and one Samsung Galaxy S11 article. It looked as though a tie for the most leaked device of the day was on the horizon but the Pixel 4 has now extended its lead over rival smartphones with a third leak courtesy of 91Mobiles.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 and a 6.2-inch display
Obtained via a source with access to Google’s next-generation flagship, a photo has been shared of the Pixel 4 XL running the DevCheck Hardware and System Info app. This lists the presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855, which is built on the 7-nanometer manufacturing process, alongside the Adreno 640 GPU. Unfortunately, the amount of RAM and storage that’s on board isn’t mentioned but previous leaks do point towards a 6/128GB configuration as standard. Recent benchmarks have also suggested an 8GB model could be on the way although their credibility is yet to be determined.
The Pixel 4 XL’s taller 19:9 display arrives accompanied by a slightly higher 2960 x 1440p resolution designed to accommodate the extra space created by the slimmer bezels. This, in turn, results in a pixel density of 540ppi which is an increase of 17ppi over the Pixel 3 XL’s display. It’s not much of a difference but it’ll undoubtedly be met with praise by hardcore tech fans that like to constantly compare devices.
Completing the Google Pixel 4 XL’s internal package should be a 3,700mAh battery paired with fast charge support and Android 10 straight out of the box. An IP68 water and dust resistance rating will likely be part of the package too.
A dual-camera setup will extend Google’s photography lead
In addition to all of the internal components mentioned above, the Google Pixel 4 XL will also feature an all-new dual-camera setup on the rear. This will include a 12-megapixel main camera and a 16-megapixel sensor that’s paired with a telephoto lens which, when combined with Super Res Zoom, can support 8x zoom. Also present is a ‘spectral sensor’ and a dual-tone LED flash.

The Google Pixel 3 duo features two front-facing cameras but the presence of the Project Soli radar this year means there isn’t room for a second selfie sensor on the Pixel 4. To offer all previous functionalities, it seems the flagship will feature a wide-angle camera as standard that’ll also offer the option of regular photos via a combination of cropping and Super Res Zoom. To help avoid warped buildings in wide-angle photos, Google has reportedly developed a new algorithm that corrects everything.
