Leaked Huawei Mate 30 series promo images reveal four models
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro
Today’s press renders showcase a circular camera module on the rear that’s accompanied by a large ring and therefore corroborate recent leaks. This setup should house a main 40-megapixel shooter that supports 4-in-1 pixel binning technology, a new 40-megapixel cine camera, an 8-megapixel sensor paired with a 3x telephoto zoom lens, and a dedicated Time-of-Flight sensor for improved bokeh imagery.
Accompanying all of this will reportedly be a xenon flash, a 32-megapixel selfie snapper, and a second selfie camera coupled with an ultra-wide-angle lens. These last two hardware features will sit inside a wide notch up front which also houses a Face ID-like 3D facial recognition system. Directly below the latter sits a huge 6.8-inch waterfall display that’s characterized by its drastically curved edges on either side. The refresh rate hasn’t yet been revealed but the panel may support a 2400 x 1176p resolution.
Powering the device will be the newly announced Kirin 990 5G. The base storage configuration is yet to be revealed but rumors suggest a variant with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of expandable internal storage is being developed.
Completing the Huawei Mate 30 Pro’s package looks set to be Android 10 and EMUI 10 without Google’s services, a huge 4,500mAh battery paired with 40W SuperCharge and 27W SuperWirelessCharge technology, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The standard Huawei Mate 30, like its Pro sibling, will adopt a circular camera module on the rear which houses a total of four sensors. But due to the smartphone’s lower pricing, downgrades to each individual sensor are to be expected.
The differences continue when we look at the front of the smartphone. In a bid to cut costs, the Huawei Mate 30 ditches the waterfall display in favor of a flat panel that’s paired with a small notch above. The latter houses two selfie cameras but skips the 3D facial recognition system.
As confirmed by today’s leaked promo image, this particular device will also support 5G networks and should therefore arrive powered by the Kirin 990 5G alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage as standard. Accompanying this will once again be Android 10 and EMUI 10 straight out of the box without Google’s apps.
The Huawei Mate 30 Porsche Design
Huawei’s next-generation Porsche Design flagships looks set to be almost identical to the Mate 30 Pro in terms of hardware. In fact, the only major difference will likely be the base storage configuration which could offers 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. However, things will look pretty different on the outside.
The Huawei Mate 30 Lite
In a bid to target customers with smaller budgets, Huawei is also preparing a Mate 30 Lite. This particular model is expected to include a 6.3-inch punch hole display alongside Android 10 and EMUI 10 straight out of the box.
Much like last year’s Mate 20 series, the Mate 30 Lite will feature a square-shaped camera module. But this time around, a total of four sensors are to be expected. Specifically, a 48-megapixel primary camera will reportedly be accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixel dedicated macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for better portrait photography.
Other features should include support for 4G LTE networks as standard, a 4,000mAh battery, and the mid-range Kirin 810 which is comparable to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730.
