Microsoft Acquires Code Review Firm for GitHub

One year after announcing its blockbuster $7.5 billion GitHub acquisition, Microsoft has acquired Pull Panda to bolster the developer service.
“We’ve acquired Pull Panda to help teams create more efficient and effective code review workflows on GitHub,” Microsoft’s Shanku Niyogi announced. “Better code reviews mean better code for software teams of all sizes, whether you work in open source or on a Fortune 500 team. However, fast-moving teams can run into delays as pull requests pile up and fall through the cracks. Teams need a better way to manage reviews, reduce turnaround times, and ship code faster.”
Pull Panda currently offers three core services: Pull Reminders, Pull Analytics, and Pull Assigner. Pull Reminders send automatic Slack notifications when a GitHub collaborator needs you to review code changes. Pull Analytics provides real-time insights into the effectiveness of a collaborative team, using metrics such as wait times and top contributors. And Pull Assigner automatically distributes code across a team so that the work is more evenly assigned.
Currently, all three of these services are available free as a single GitHub Marketplace application called Pull Panda. But Microsoft plans to integrate these features into GitHub as soon as possible.
