Microsoft's 2017 Surface Pro is on sale at a big discount bundled with Office and a keyboard

Even though Microsoft’s 2018-released Surface Pro 6 has been substantially marked down on numerous occasions over the past few months, the previous generation of the popular 2-in-1 detachable tablet computer can still be a smart purchase as well… at the right price.
Commercially launched back in the summer of 2017, the fifth-gen Microsoft Surface Pro is currently available from Best Buy at a price of $649 in combination with a platinum-colored Type Cover, as well as an Office Home & Student 2019 product key card for one device at no extra charge. While the retailer lists this as a $199.99 discount, that’s not entirely true, at least compared to the initial price of an entry-level Surface Pro (5th Gen) configuration bundled with a keyboard, not to mention the Office 2019 license.
Microsoft, for instance, charges $649 at the time of this writing for a tablet and Type Cover combo listed as regularly fetching a grand total of $909. Meanwhile, the value of a one-time Office Home & Student purchase for one Windows 10 PC or Mac with a perpetual license included is much easier to determine, as these things rarely get discounts on their own, normally costing $149.99 a pop.
