New Pixel 4 leak reveals 'Motion Sense' settings, more photos
It may be iPhone day but the Google Pixel 4 has rarely been out of the spotlight. Earlier today a bunch of photos comparing the white and black variants appeared online. These were followed up by a short video of the orange Pixel 4 and yet another leak that corroborated a bunch of specs.
Google will offer a range of Motion Sense settings
Through official teasers and a recently leaked Pixel 4 promo video, Google has already hinted at the ability to switch songs with Motion Sense or silence alarms and phone calls. Today’s videos corroborate these features and reveal some others.
Firstly, it seems Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL users will be given the option of turning the Motion Sense feature off entirely. But when activated, a list of settings will be available to the owner including the ability to deactivate the ‘skip songs’ or ‘silence interruptions’ gestures. The latter allows users to snooze alarms or decline calls by waving their hand over the phone. The former, on the other hand, gives owners the option of skipping songs with one big air swipe in a specified direction.

In addition to the short videos showcasing the Motion Sense settings, a relatively large collection of photos that showcase the Pixel 4 from a variety of different angles was also provided. The first few shots in the gallery below corroborate the presence of a large display surrounded by slim side bezels, a reduced chin, and a rather large upper bezel. Speaking of which, one of the images provides a close up look at the layout which Google says includes a selfie camera, the Project Soli radar, an in-ear speaker, and an entire secure facial recognition system that’ll rival Apple’s Face ID.
The smartphone in question is the black model which, as previously revealed, boasts a white accented power key along the right side. This accompanies an elongated volume rocker and the SIM card tray which sits on the opposite side of the frame. The frame itself apparently feels like a “premium plastic” and resembles the Pixel 2’s frame. Finishing up the frame aspect of things is a USB-C port and a bottom-firing speaker that’ll work alongside the in-ear alternative to create a stereo setup.
Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL announcement and release date
The Google Pixel 4 series looks set to be introduced at a hardware event on Tuesday, October 15. Official pre-orders are expected to start immediately after the show although it probably won’t be until Friday, October 25 that consumers actually start receiving the smartphones.
