On September 10th, Apple is expected to unveil the 2019 iPhone models and an unofficial spec sheet was published on a TME.net community forum. As expected there will be three models; according to the spec sheet they will be named the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Let’s start with the iPhone 11, which is the sequel to the iPhone XR. It will be equipped with a 6.1-inch LCD display with a resolution of 828 x 1792 and powered by the A13 Bionic chipset designed by Apple and manufactured by TSMC using its 7nm process. The phone has 4GB of memory with storage options of 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The square camera module on the back of the phone will have two sensors and there will be a 12MP front-facing FaceTime camera. The device will support reverse wireless charging and a 3110mAh battery will keep the lights on. This model will be priced at $749 and up.

The iPhone 11 Pro is the follow up to last year’s iPhone XS. This model will come with a 5.8-inch AMOLED display and a resolution of 1125 x 2436. Under the hood is the A13 Bionic SoC with 6GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. A triple camera setup will be on the back (we expect to see a 12MP primary + 12MP Telephoto with 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle featuring a 120-degree field of view) with the front-facing 12MP FaceTime camera. This model will come with Apple Pencil support, reverse wireless charging capabilities, and a 3190mAh or higher battery. The iPhone 11 Pro will cost $999 and up.

The top of the line model will apparently be named the iPhone 11 Pro Max and replaces the iPhone XS Max. As such, it will carry a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 1242 x 2688 resolution. The A13 Bionic SoC powers the handset, which sports 6GB of memory and delivers storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. This model will have the same triple camera setup on the back and FaceTime camera in front as found on the iPhone 11 Pro; it also will offer support for the Apple Pencil and reverse wireless charging. The larger screen requires a larger battery than the one powering the iPhone 11 Pro, and the sheet calls for the iPhone 11 Pro Max to be equipped with a 3500mAh battery or higher. A leak last month suggested that the battery on the iPhone 11 Pro Max will actually be closer to 4000mAh. Pricing for this model is said to be $1,099 and up. There are sure to be some specs that turn out to be true on this sheet, but that is because they seem to have been taken from previous leaks and rumors.

The rear cameras on the new iPhones are supposed to take much-improved photos under less than optimal lighting conditions. A report last month noted that the rear cameras on the new iPhones will produce photos that rival the quality of the pictures snapped on more traditional cameras. The reverse wireless charging will allow users to employ the glass panel on the back of the phone as a wireless charging pad. This will enable them to charge up the AirPods wireless charging case, an Apple Watch or a compatible phone. The spec sheets didn’t mention anything about a rumored underwater mode that will allow users to navigate the touchscreen even when the screen is all wet.

With the phones set to be introduced on September 10th, pre-orders will supposedly kick off on September 13th. The new phones will be released on September 20th. This will be the first time that Apple will have announced three phones that will all have the same release date. In 2017, Apple introduced the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X. The trio was unwrapped on September 12, 2017, and the first two models were launched on September 22nd of that year; the iPhone X was not released until November 3rd, 2017. Then last year, the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR were introduced on September 12, 2018. The first two models were launched on September 21st while the more affordable iPhone XR hit the market on October 26th.
