Samsung's first phone equipped with a 64MP camera is a step closer to reality
Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A line has been selling so well that the company has been offering mid-generation updated versions of some of these models. For example, last week it unveiled the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s. And now, according to MySmartPrice, the Wi-Fi Alliance has certified the Galaxy A70s. With a model number of SM-707F, the phone also was recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmark site. Based on the benchmark test, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 675 chipset and have 6GB of memory onboard just like the Galaxy A70.
One of the differences between the regular Galaxy A models and the newer “s” units can be found in the rear camera module. For example, the Galaxy A50 features a 25MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A50s is equipped with the same 8MP and 5MP cameras, but replacing the 25MP primary camera is a 48MP snapper. The Galaxy A50s also has a 50% bump in memory to 6GB compared to the 4GB that the Galaxy A50 is equipped with.
Along those same lines, we expect that the Galaxy A70s will replace the 32MP primary camera on the back for a camera driven by Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. In optimal lighting, the sensor can produce 64MP photographs while 4 in 1 pixel binning will result in quality 16MP images in less than optimal conditions. The remaining two cameras will include the same 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP depth sensor found on the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A50s. Color options could be Black, White, and Lavender.
Assuming that the rest of the Galaxy A70s is a dead ringer for the Galaxy A70, the new model should be equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen carrying a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and an aspect ratio of 20:9. A 4500mAh battery will keep the lights on, and Android 9 will be pre-installed.
Considering that Samsung didn’t make a big deal when it unveiled the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s, we probably won’t see any pomp and circumstance out of Samsung when it announces the Galaxy A70s. We will have our ears to the ground so that we can let you know as soon as Samsung makes the Galaxy A70s official.

Since several U.S. carriers are offering the Galaxy A10e, Galaxy A20, and Galaxy A50, it is possible that eventually some of the upgraded mid-rangers could find their way to America.
