Sony Announces a Call of Duty-Themed PS4 Console

It’s bad enough that we’ve lost the Call of Duty franchise to PlayStation, but now Sony is releasing a special edition Call of Duty-themed Call of Duty: WWII PS4 console bundle too.
“PlayStation’s Limited Edition Call of Duty: WWII PS4 Bundle launches November 3 and is available for pre-order now,” the PlayStation Blog reveals. “It includes a custom-designed 1 TB PS4 console, complete with matching DualShock 4 controller and Call of Duty: WWII.
That custom design, as you can see, includes a cool (and retro) camo design motif, which I assume you will get in the mood for beating back the Nazis for the 117th time since the Call of Duty franchise started in the wake of Medal of Honor, another long-time (if less successful) first-person shooter franchise.
As with the previous two Call of Duty games, PlayStation 4 gamers will get DLC (downloadable content) map packs first, 30 days ahead of gamers on Xbox or PC. This delay makes it hard to be a second-class citizen with the franchise, which in turn has led me to question my allegiance to Xbox. But Call of Duty may be the only downside, for me, to Xbox, and I’ve chosen to stick with the platform. The Xbox One X and Microsoft’s cross-platform gaming strategy have only reinforced this decision.
But still, Call of Duty. Ah well.
The limited edition Call of Duty: WWII PS4 Bundle is now available for pre-order from Amazon (affiliate link) and other retailers. It costs $299.99.
