Spotify Refreshes Your Library, Splits Music and Podcasts

Spotify has started rolling out a major update to the Your Library view in its mobile app that separates music and podcasts from each other. But it’s available only to Premium subscribers.
“Starting today, we’re introducing a new version of Your Library to Premium users that mixes form with function,” a new post to the Spotify Newsroom notes. “Everything about the reimagined Library is designed to get you to the content you want faster. It also makes getting started and staying up-to-date with podcasts on Spotify a seamless, personalized experience.”
Previous to this update, the Your Library view in Spotify provided a Podcasts entry in a list that included mostly music-related items like Playlists, Songs, Albums, Artists and more. In the new version, Your Library has prominent Music and Podcasts tabs at the top so you can easily toggle between those content types instead.
Inside of each view, you’ll find views that make sense for each content type. The Music view has Playlists, Artists, and Albums tabs, for example, while Podcasts has Episodes, Downloads, and Shows.
There are other changes in this update, too. Spotify has create a new automatic playslist called Liked Songs, available in the Playlists view, that contains all existing and future Liked songs. And Podcasts has a new Shows tab so you can more easily manage the podcasts you follow and scan through past episodes.
