Surface Book, Surface Laptop Line Get New Firmware Updates

Microsoft is rolling out new firmware updates for some devices on the Surface line. The company started rolling out a new set of firmware updates for a couple of Surface devices last night.
These updates are coming to the Surface Laptop 2, Surface Laptop, Surface Book 2, Surface Book, and the Surface Pro 4 (via WBI). The firmware updates for all the devices include fixes for Surface UEFI. More notably, Microsoft says the updates resolve “potential security vulnerabilities”.
Here are the changelogs (spoiler: they are almost identical, except the version number):
- Surface Laptop 2: Surface UEFI – Firmware (137.2706.768.0) resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 190013.
- Surface Laptop: Surface UEFI – Firmware (137.2706.768.0) resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 190013.
- Surface Book 2: Surface UEFI – Firmware (389.2706.768.0) resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 190013.
