Tips and picks
Tip of the week: Eloquent JavaScript
Want to learn JavaScript for free? This 450-page book can be had for free.
App pick of the week: VirtualBox
I’ve used VirtualBox to install an incredible array of MS-DOS and Windows versions, plus different generations of Office, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and much more. Just great stuff and it’s absolutely free.
Enterprise pick of the week: Data-sharing agreements/licenses
Get ready for a whole bunch of new acronyms. Microsoft seeks to “do for data sharing what open source did for code”
Naming pick of the week: Office Online is no more
Everything’s just plain-old Office now. Sigh
Beer pick of the week: Transmitter Hx Raspberry Sour
This is a NYC beer pick for all of you vacationing/visiting our fair city. Transmitter is an amazing brewery which recently relocated to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. They make primarily farmhouse/saisons, which separates them from everyone else doing IPAs and pilsners. They also make some great sours like their Hx Raspberry one, which is a barrel-aged wonder.
