Twitter’s Windows 10 is undoubtedly the best Progressive Web App (PWA) available from the Microsoft Store right now. The app picked up some new features recently, making it even more powerful on Windows 10, as well as the web.

Twitter’s Windows 10 app now integrates with the Windows Timeline. With the latest update, when you view a live event or a Twitter Moment, it will show up as an event on Windows Timeline, so you can go back and pick up where you left off. The integration is quite interesting, mainly because it doesn’t integrate stuff like tweets or videos you view — instead, it focuses only on Moments and Live. The idea here is that when you view live events or Twitter moments, you can easily go back to them and see updates to the Moment or Live event whenever you want. It could be a neat way of keeping up with something like a developing story, or just a Live broadcast you plan to get back to streaming later.

Another feature specific to the Windows 10 app is related to Microsoft Edge. Now, when you open twitter.com links on web pages, they will open on the Twitter app instead of Twitter’s website. This feature sounds like something that can get quite annoying over time, and there doesn’t seem to be an option to turn it off either.

As for the PWA itself, Twitter has updated the app with new features like the ability to upload videos, improved accessibility, improved search results, and the ability to create threads (aka tweetstorms). These features are part of the PWA, which means they are accessible from any device that can load mobile.twitter.com. And since the Windows 10 app is powered by the PWA itself, you get all the features included in the PWA on the Windows 10 app.
