Tips and picks
Tip of the week: Games with Gold!
Another great set of free games for May. Plus, new Xbox Game Pass games for May too!
App pick of the week: iTunes for Windows 10
Just kidding. Don’t get this app.
Instead, get Twitter for Windows 10, which is excellent.
Enterprise pick of the week: TechCommunity blogs
With Microsoft revamping its Office blogs site and turning into a Microsoft 365 one, it’s getting harder to find Office-specific product news. Unless you know about TechCommunity blogs, that is.
Enterprise pick No. 2: Fast Data Transfer tool
Fast Data Transfer is a tool for fast upload of data into Azure – up to 4 terabytes per hour from a single client machine. It moves data from your premises to Blob Storage, to a clustered file system, or direct to an Azure VM. This is a Microsoft Garage project, so it’s experimental and could turn into a commercial product or just disappear at any time.
Beer pick of the week: Machine House Oyster Stout
Next week is Build in Seattle. So how about a local Seattle beer pick. There’s more than just super hoppy delicious yummy west coast IPAs in Seattle? There are also very drinkable, smooth and sensible stouts like Machine House Oyster Stout. Machine House is a very cool brewpub in the Georgetown neighborhood. They make lots of English-style, lower alcohol beers, including this one, brewed with Hood Canal oysters.
